How to Care for Your Mat
Marks on this style of mat come with the territory, most will easily wipe off or wear off over time, but overall we hope you will see these as part of the story of your practice and forming the character of your mat.
To avoid the worst of the marks, avoid applying oil or moisturiser of any kind to your skin or hair before practising.
If you wish to remove the marks on your mat, simply wipe gently with soft cloth using water and very diluted cleaning liquid, or vinegar, ensuring your cloth is well wrung out.
Never use cleaning agents with essential oils, alcohol or petroleum-based solvents on your mat
Lay flat to dry.
Do not leave in the sun.
Roll with the pattern facing out when dry. Do not fold your mat.

We aim to ship orders within 1-2 working days. Orders are not dispatched over the weekend You will receive a tracking number when your order has been dispatched.
Local taxes and duties are not included. Your package will be shipped from the UK, your customs fees will depend on the country of delivery. We have removed UK VAT (tax) for all customers outside of the UK.
We are currently not shipping to Russia. We cannot ship to PO Box addresses

We reserve the right to change shipping courier at any time and without notice to ensure that delivery of your order goes smoothly and arrives within a reasonable time. Outlying territories are not considered part of a shipping zone.
Please note: We are unable to combine shipping on separate orders, and we are unable to change the delivery address to one in another country once your order has been paid.
Returns
You are welcome to return your mat within 30 days of delivery. Please contact us (info@middle-earth.yoga) in the first instance so we can try to help you make your mat work for you. Return shipping will be at your own cost.
All items must be in re-sellable condition with all packaging intact. Due to the open cell structure of these mats we can only refund items which have not been handled, used or removed from their packaging. There may be a handling fee for returns with damaged packaging. If you return a used item we will unfortunately not be able to accept it and may get in touch to send it back again at your cost.
Please ensure you obtain proof of postage and insurance, the package is your responsibility until it reaches us.
Returning due to a fault
If your mat has a flaw, we may be able to send you a pre-paid returns label, so please contact us before returning goods if you believe your item to be flawed. If this is the case, please send us photos and a description of the flaws before returning.
Any faulty goods will either be replaced or, if you prefer, you will receive a full refund, as well as a refund on your return postage costs (providing you meet our requirements).
Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have (following the procedure above), and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
Only items purchased directly from Middle-earth™ Yoga are covered by this policy, and proof of purchase will be required when processing returns.

This yoga mat is far softer on the knees than any of the other mats of the same thickness that I have. The top has the perfect amount of grip for my workouts and yoga sessions. I would highly recommend it to anyone who sometimes feels like they need a bit of extra cushion for their knees on a yoga mat. This feels like a major upgrade in comparison to the mat that I have been using previously. I'm wondering why I took so long to convince myself I needed this.
This yoga mat single-handedly made me get back into yoga. I saw it online, knew I had to have it… then remembered I hadn’t done yoga in about 8 years lol. I made a promise to myself that if I signed up for classes again, I could order it. Wonderful decision! I love the mat - great grip and I adore the design. I LOVE this yoga mat. It's absolutely gorgeous but also very thick and sticky. I've been using a Jade Yoga mat for years, which is a great mat, but I definitely feel like this is an upgrade

I bought this mat being a big Lord of the rings fan, and wanting to get back into yoga.
I love it - a good large size, I didn't notice the rubber smell at all, beautiful design, amazing grip and no slide at all. I love the quality and ethical principals.
It is solid, significantly heavier than any yoga mat I've used before but that's not really an issue for me.
The one thing I would say is being a slightly larger and heavier mat, and for the price, I would really appreciate the option of a mat bag and straps to come with it, because i'm not sure whether an ordinary bag will hold up/be the right size, plus it deserves a pretty bag and/or effective straps! Perhaps sister company Oscha can help....
Hi Alison, thanks so much for your lovely review, so great to hear you're finding the size, design and grip up to the job! The weight of the mat is really helpful to prevent it slipping around the floor and sort of buckling when you practice, so I hope you find that useful.
Re. the bag - we made a conscious decision not to include one as we don't want to send out anything that might end up in landfill and many people will already have a bag. I agree that offering it as an optional extra could be lovely - maybe in the future we can look at fabric bags and bolsters :)
I am so impressed with my Hithaeglir yoga mat, it has ideal grip, it is a thing of great beauty and ethical goodness, not to mention perfect functionality. No joke, this mat somehow makes me feel like I am stepping into a mountain retreat during my practice, maybe they infuse it with positive vibrations during manufacture, or middle earth yoga is just a phenomenally happy place. This piece of kit has elevated my practice to another level, the positive impact stays with me off the mat leaving me resonant with peace and focus when I step back into my home office again. Middle earth yoga delivered quickly and smoothly, highly recommended.
I bought this for my partner who is an experienced yoga practitioner. She has used many mats over the years, but says this is the most grippy and beautiful mat she has used.
I purchased a Misty Mountains "Hithaeglir" yoga mat with the intention to start practising some pregnancy yoga, after a break of several years from regular Swasthya Yoga classes. My wee toddlerina, Lily, had other ideas, however, and immediately claimed the mat as her own!
Between us, Lily and I have been putting this beautiful mat through its paces, and I have no hesitation in recommending Middle Earth Yoga mats to anyone contemplating making a purchase. The mat looks and feel very high quality, the Misty Mountains design is beautiful and the mat itself is a great length, fairly firm and very comfortable to use, and most importantly, has fantastic grip.
This is my first natural rubber mat, and my first Middle Earth Yoga mat, but it certainly won't be the last. I may just have to accept that little Lily has adopted this one for herself, and order myself another!
In short, perfect as a treat for yourself or as a gift for a loved one!
